Tony Roma's Baked Potato Soup

This is the best potato soup I've attempted to make! Perfect for a cold evening.

2 T butter
2 onions, diced
1/2 cup flour
1 pt. half and half
2 lb. peeled potatoes (about 3-4 large ones), boiled and diced
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. Tabasco sauce
1 qt. chicken stock

Garnishes
Grated cheese
Bacon Bits
Chives

Saute onions in butter until transparent and tender. Add flour; stir; then add half & half slowly. Add chicken stock, spices, and potatoes. Serve with grated cheese, bacon bits, or green onion.

Have you tried it with milk instead of half and half?

No, I've just made this particular recipe once, I'm sure it would be perfectly fine with milk though. That's usually what I use for potato soup I just happened to actually have half & half this time.
