Broadway Brownie Bars


Broadway Brownie Bars
1 pkg (8 oz) cream cheese, divided
1 ½ cups sugar, divided
1 cup plus 2 T all purpose flour, divided
1 cup butter, softened, divided
3 eggs, divided
2 ½ tsp vanilla, divided
2 squares (1 oz each) unsweetened chocolate, divided
1 ¼ cup chopped walnuts, divided
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups miniature marshmallows
¼ cup milk
3 cups confectioners’ sugar


1.  In small mixing bowl, blend 6 oz cream cheese, ½ cup sugar, 2 T flour, ¼ cup butter, 1 egg and ½ tsp vanilla; set aside. 
2.  In medium saucepan, over medium heat, melt 1 square chocolate and ½ cup butter. Remove from heat; add 1 cup sugar, 1 cup flour, 1 cup nuts, baking powder, 1 tsp vanilla, and 2 eggs; blend well. 
3.  Spray 13 in x 9 in x 2 in pan with non-stick spray; spread batter in pan. Spread cheese mixture over batter. 4.  In small bowl, combine ¼ cup nuts and chocolate chips; sprinkle over cheese layer. 
5.  Bake at 350* for about 28 minutes or until almost done. 
6.  Sprinkle marshmallows over all; return to oven for 2 minutes. 
7.  In medium saucepan, melt ¼ cup butter, 1 square chocolate, 2 oz cream cheese and milk. Remove from heat, stir in confectioners’ sugar and 1 tsp vanilla. Immediately drizzle over marshmallows. Chill well; cut into bars. Yield: 30 bars


(I just got this recipe from a friend of mine and it is sinful!  SO good and addictive.)
