My Favorite Sugar Cookies

Happy Valentine's Day! Janelle and I made these for her preschool party, so I thought I'd post the recipe since they're my favorite! My mom got this recipe from a lady in one of our old wards named JoAnn. They are the best sugar cookies I've ever had! They're very moist and soft.

2 cups sugar
1 cup butter
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla

Blend sugar and butter until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.

1 cup whipping cream (unwhipped)
6 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt

Add these ingredients by alternating the whipping cream with flour, soda, and salt. (Depending on humidity, 6 cups flour might be too much, just check the dough consistency.) Take dough and roll into a ball, wrap in wax paper and refrigerate 30-45 minutes. Roll 1/4" - 1/2" thickness and cut with cookie cutters. Bake 375 degrees for 8-11 minutes. Don't allow to brown too much.

Frosting:

1/2 cup butter - softened
4 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup milk
food coloring (optional)

P.S. Sorry about the video of Spencer I didn't realize I'd posted it on the wrong site until I put this recipe on today! How embarassing!
