Pumpkin Brownies

Tis the season for yummy pumpkin-related treats. These brownies are very dense and pretty rich. The original recipe calls for no spices except the cinnamon, so if you like basically un-spiced pumpkin treats, omit them. On the other hand, if you like more, you might consider doubling them (which I'm gonna do next time I make these).

2 sticks butter, melted
3 cups sugar
1 16 oz can pumpkin
2 eggs
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon cloves

In one bowl, mix butter, sugar, pumpkin, and eggs. In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt (and other spices, if desired). Add the dry ingredients to the wet, mix. Add a package of chocolate chips.

Bake in a 9x13" pan at 350 for 45-55 minutes.
